Our Story

More than 50 years ago, I was frustrated that I could not find bridles and saddles, to fit my children’s ponies properly. At the time, I had a saddlery shop and contacts in Walsall, so I began having bridles and saddles made specifically for ponies.

Before long, customers began asking whether we could make bridles for their horses too, as standard stock bridles often did not fit well. That was how English Bridles began. Since then, we have continued designing bridles to fit horses of all shapes and sizes.

We have offered sponsorship to up and coming riders, and have had the privilege of making items for Nations Cup riders.

We attend major shows and our two favourites are Windsor Horse Show and The London International Hore Show. 

 In 2013, working with a master saddle, we designed our bridle fitting guide. We realised that simply mixing components of different sizes can result in buckles sitting too high on the horse's head.  We customise bridles to the measurements on the bridle guide for the perfect fit.

All English Bridles products are made as standard with carefully selected quality English leather  and non-rust stainless steel fittings,  helping to ensure the high standards of craftsmanship and finish that English Bridles is known for.
